This privacy policy describes how the Foundation processes the personal data it collects.
Who is responsible for your personal data?
The Foundation collects personal data that you provide to us when applying for grants and/or scholarships.
The Foundation may also collect personal data from other sources, such as private and public registers, in order to complete the information you provided in your application.
How does the Foundation receive your personal data?

is the data controller for the processing of your personal data and is responsible for ensuring that all processing is done in a legal and correct manner.
What data is processed?
The Foundation processes the personal data provided to us. This may include your name, e-mail address, telephone number, personal identity number, postal address, bank account number, bankgiro number, plusgiro number, marital status, upper secondary school grades, academic qualifications, photographs, and information about your income, assets and debts, or information that is otherwise necessary for the Foundation to be able to process and administer your application and fulfill our obligations to you.
Why does the Foundation process data about you?
The Foundation may use your personal data for the following purposes, among others:
- record and store in the Foundation’s data register
- manage and administer your application
- assess whether to award a grant and/or scholarship
- award grants and/or scholarships
- pay the grant and/or scholarship awarded
- follow up on how the grant and/or scholarship awarded has been used
- keep statistics
- include my name in the Foundation’s list of persons who have received grants and/or scholarships in publications published by the Foundation
- publish photos of you in publications issued by the Foundation
- otherwise contact you with any additional questions or feedback regarding your application.
When does the Foundation have the right to process your personal data?
The Foundation has the right to process your personal data when you have given your consent to the processing or if the Foundation has a legal obligation to process your personal data. When you give your consent, you will always be clearly informed about what you are consenting to.
Who has access to your personal data?
Your personal data is processed by the Foundation. Personal data may be disclosed to data processors engaged by the Foundation, the Foundation’s auditors and to authorities upon request.
The Foundation does not disclose personal data to other companies or organizations unless the Foundation is required to do so by law, regulation or government decision or to protect the rights of the Foundation or third parties.
Transfers to third countries
The Foundation does not transfer your personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA unless this is specifically stated when you provide us with your personal data.
How long do we keep your personal data?
If you are awarded a grant and/or scholarship, the Foundation will keep your personal data for as long as necessary, normally for seven years. When the personal data is no longer needed, it is removed (deleted).
If you are not awarded a grant and/or scholarship, the Foundation will delete your personal data at the end of the calendar year following the receipt of your application.
What are your rights?
Register extracts
You have the right to obtain, on request, information on what personal data the Foundation processes about you. Your request must be signed by you and include your name and personal identity number. We need this to ensure that we provide the information to the right person.
Right to rectification
If your data is incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant, you can ask for it to be corrected.
Right to erasure, restriction of processing etc.
You have the right to request that the Foundation erase your personal data, restrict the processing of your personal data or transfer your personal data to another controller, as well as the right to object to the processing of your personal data. However, this right does not apply to the processing of personal data on the basis of a legal obligation, such as processing on the basis of the Accounting Act.

If you have requested an extract from the register, the information will be sent to your registered address.
You also have the right, where appropriate, to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, which is the supervisory authority for the processing of personal data.
How your personal data is protected
The Foundation protects your privacy. The Foundation takes all appropriate technical and organizational measures required in each individual case to protect your personal data from unauthorized access and use and otherwise to ensure that the processing takes place in accordance with applicable legislation.
Updating this privacy policy
The Foundation may make changes to the content of this privacy policy. A new version will become effective upon decision of the Board of Directors.
